Archigram
Archigram was a visionary architecture and design collaborative consisting of Warren Chalk, Peter Cook, Dennis Crompton, David Greene, Ron Herron, and Michael Webb. Next to ideas for gadgets like the Electronic Tomato, Archigram foresaw contemporary urban developments such as Capsule Homes, Extreme Suburbs, the Plug-In University or Computer City and reconfigurable megastractures. Partly outrageously creative, partly acutely critical, Archigram had the ideas for drive-in everything and KFC-supplied army bases in the middle of foreign deserts. All of this actually exists today, albeit in much less interesting designs than the ones proposed by Archigram.
